RICHMOND, Va. (March 29, 2023) – UNCW junior Walker Isley and Charleston sophomore Emma Schimpf are the CAA Golfers of the Week for their recent performances.
 
MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Walker Isley, UNCW
Junior | Oak Island, N.C. / South Brunswick
Isley finished second at the Seahawk Intercollegiate at 10-under. The junior from North Carolina went 72-67-67 for the tournament against a host of top-100 teams and competitive field. Isley finished two strokes off the lead and tied with a tournament-best 18 birdies while producing a season-best round with his pair of 67s.
 
WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Emma Schimpf, Charleston
Sophomore | Daniel Island, S.C. / Oceanside Collegiate Academy
Schimpf placed in the top 10 at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. The sophomore from South Carolina was even for the tournament, which was shortened to 36 holes due to weather. Schimpf went 74-70 with five birdies in the second round as Charleston took on a field that included five of the top 20 teams in the nation.

Charleston finished sixth at the Hootie at Bulls Bay with Zach Reuland leading the way at 6-under … Elon won the Aggie Invitational with Landon Durham capturing medalist honors at 2-under … North Carolina A&T was third at its home event with Samuel Drew Walker and Diego Gonzalez tying for 11thMonmouth was 15th and Hofstra 17th at the Battle at Rum Pointe; Dino Capazario was in the top 20 for Hofstra and Colin McCullagh led Monmouth … UNCW finished two shots off the lead at the Seahawk Intercollegiate with Walker Isley finishing second … Towson finished sixth and William & Mary eighth at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate; The Tribe’s Logan Hunter turned in a top-10 effort, while Jeremy Summerson and Justin Griffith led the way for the Tigers … Delaware is second entering its final round of competition Wednesday at the GolfWeek/AGT Intercollegiate.
 
Women’s Notes
William & Mary led four CAA teams at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate … W&M finished eighth, Monmouth was 13th, Towson 15th, and Hofstra 17thSarah Houle was in the top 10 for the Tribe, Cynthia Zhao placed in the top 25 for the Pride, while Paige Diecidue led the Hawks and Isabella Portokalis paced the Tigers … Charleston finished 11th at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic with Emma Schimpf in the top 10 … Mallory Fobes led UNCW at Clemson as the Seahawks finished 12thDelaware defeated Navy in a dual match.
