RICHMOND, Va. (April 11, 2023) – The CAA has announced its weekly rowing awards for the second time during the 2023 season. The Drexel first varsity eight was named the CAA Boat of the Week for the second consecutive week to open the spring. 
 
BOAT OF THE WEEK
Drexel First Varsity Eight
Drexel, which is receiving votes in the Pocock CRCA Poll, earned a second-place finish at the 40th Murphy Cup Regatta with a time of 6:32.83. The Dragons debuted their newest shell, rowing in the Jim and Toni Downey, as the team consisting of Natalie Cleri (coxswain), Taylor Powell (stroke), Mollie Knoff, Giavanna Hunt, Rita Keefer, Kirby Droogan, Hayley McKeever, Julianna Rogers and Morgan Van Dexter (bow) posted a season-best time. Drexel trailed only ninth-ranked Penn in the final and finished ahead of an Old Dominion squad also receiving votes in the national poll. In addition, the Dragons crossed the finish before CAA comrade Delaware, Georgetown and Temple.
