RICHMOND, Va. (April 14, 2023) – The first CAA Championship of the spring tees off in North Carolina on Friday, while regular season competition around the league includes some key matchups this weekend.

The final weekend of men’s regular season competition sees six teams taking to the course. Delaware and Towson will play the Rutherford Intercollegiate in State College, Drexel and William & Mary are at West Virginia’s Mountaineer Invitational, Hofstra will play the one-day Roar-EE Invitational in New York before The Shark Invitational on Long Island, Monmouth is in the Abarta Coca-Cola Invitational in the Lehigh Valley,
Men’s Lacrosse
We just passed the midpoint of the conference schedule in CAA Men’s Lacrosse, and for the second straight week, two of the top teams in the league will go head-to-head. On Saturday, Delaware, sitting in first place with a 4-0 record in CAA play, visits Stony Brook (3-1) at 3 p.m. (FloLive) as the Seawolves look to bounce back after its first conference setback last week. The game features the two longest active goal-scoring streaks in the NCAA, with Stony Brook’s Dylan Pallonetti scoring in 39 straight games and Delaware’s Tye Kurtz with a goal in 27 consecutive contests. Drexel is tied with the Blue Hens for first place after opening CAA play 4-0 for the first time since 2007. The Dragons look to stay perfect, entertaining Hofstra at 11 a.m. (FloLive). In addition, Towson attempts to win its second straight conference contest, hosting Hampton (12 p.m., FloLive), and Monmouth travels to Fairfield at 3:30 p.m. for a first-time CAA matchup on Lacrosse TV. |

Women’s Lacrosse
One-goal wins by Drexel and William & Mary in the midweek set up a key Saturday of league play in the CAA. The day begins with a Saturday morning clash as No. 6 Stony Brook hosts William & Mary (11 a.m., LacrosseTV). Three games on FloLive follow with Hofstra heading to Elon (12 p.m.), Drexel and Delaware squaring off in a battle of 2-2 teams (12 p.m.), and the day closing with 4-0 Towson hosting Monmouth (2:30 p.m.). |

Softball
The conference race continues to heat up on CAA Softball and several teams are picking up steam. Delaware (10-2) is red-hot, sweeping three straight conference series, and has ascended to first place in the league standings. The Blue Hens have outscored conference opponents 34-6 during the winning streak and look to stay hot visiting Drexel this weekend in a series modified to Friday and Sunday. UNCW (11-4) has won three straight CAA series, scoring 56 runs (6.2 per game) in the past nine games. The Seahawks have a marquee matchup at Elon (8-3) this weekend. The Phoenix is third in the league standings behind UNCW after winning its first three CAA series. Another interesting matchup features a pair of teams with back-to-back conference series victories. Towson (9-6) has vaulted into fourth place in the conference standings and entertains North Carolina A&T, coming off its first two CAA series wins in program history. In addition, Charleston hosts Monmouth, while Hofstra and Hampton look to get back on track, battling in the Commonwealth. |

Baseball
A battle between two of the league’s hottest teams highlights the weekend slate in CAA baseball. First-place Elon (22-10, 11-3 CAA), which has won nine of its last 11 games, visits a William & Mary (22-12, 7-5 CAA) squad that has captured nine of its last 10 contests. Third-place Northeastern (26-6, 8-4 CAA), which is 12-3 on the road this season, travels to Stony Brook (12-18, 4-8 CAA) and Monmouth (12-16, 3-10) hosts fourth-place Charleston (19-13, 9-6 CAA). Delaware (17-16, 6-6 CAA) is home against North Carolina A&T (14-15, 6-7 CAA) and Hofstra (12-19, 6-9 CAA) heads to Towson (10-23, 2-10 CAA). UNCW (19-12), which has recorded a pair of victories over nationally ranked opponents this season, meets #23 TCU for a three-game series in Fort Worth, Texas.|

Tennis
It’s the final weekend of regular-season play in CAA women’s tennis and there are several conference matchups on the schedule. On Saturday, UNCW hosts Charleston, Towson makes the short trip to Delaware and Hofstra welcomes Drexel. There are also four in-state non-conference matches as North Carolina A&T is at Wake Forest, Stony Brook faces Binghamton, UNCW entertains Campbell and William & Mary heads to Richmond.
In men’s action, Drexel visiting Hofstra is the lone conference clash. The non-conference schedule includes Delaware and Monmouth both facing Morgan State and NJIT. Hitting the road are Charleston (UNC Asheville), Elon (Radford), Hampton (George Mason) and North Carolina A&T (Norfolk State and The Citadel), while UNCW hosts South Alabama.
Track & Field
Eleven conference teams compete on the track and in the field this weekend. Three teams – Delaware, Monmouth and Hofstra – will be at Princeton for the Larry Ellis Invitational. The Hawks also send athletes to Bucknell for the Bison Outdoor Classic, while the Pride splits its team at Providence for the Friar Invitational. Northeastern and Stony Brook will join Hofstra in Rhode Island, and both teams are also sending athletes to the Northeast Challenge hosted by UConn. Heading south, Elon and William & Mary are heading to High Point for the Meet of Champions, while Hampton and Towson travel to Norfolk for the NSU Invitational. Additionally, North Carolina A&T will head back to Florida for the Tom Jones Memorial and UNCW will visit Mount Olive for the UMO Invitational.
Rowing
All eight CAA Rowing crews will be in action for the first time this spring, with six league teams competing on the Copper River in Pennsauken, N.J. The Knecht Cup Regatta, celebrating its 20th anniversary, will feature UConn, Delaware, Drexel, Eastern Michigan Monmouth and Villanova. In addition, Northeastern will look to take back the Council Cup, battling against Boston University on the Charleston River, and UCSD will host the Triton Invitational.
