NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (April 25, 2023) – Drexel sophomore Jenika Cuocco has been selected as National Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association.

Cuocco made 12 saves and allowed four goals over 51 minutes to lead Drexel to an 18-6 victory over Hofstra on Saturday on Long Island. The goalie from Long Island was named CAA Rookie of the Week for a league-record sixth time on Monday for her performance. Cuocco is second in the nation in save percentage at .539 and ninth in goals-against average at 8.75. Drexel is 11-4 in 2023 and 4-2 in the CAA entering Saturday’s regular season finale vs. Monmouth.

Cuocco is the second CAA player to earn a national honor from the IWLCA this season; Delaware’s Lizzie Yurchak was named Offensive Player of the Week on March 28.
