RICHMOND, Va. (April 6, 2023) – William & Mary senior Katie Stevenson was chosen as the 2023 CAA Women's Swimmer of the Year, while UNCW senior Courtney Klausen and Northeastern sophomore Erin Murphy shared CAA Women's Diver of the Year honors in a vote by the league's head coaches.

Joining Stevenson, Klausen and Murphy as major award winners in women's swimming and diving were William & Mary freshman Sophia Heilen as Rookie Swimmer of the Year and Towson freshman Shannon Parrau as Rookie Diver of the Year. UNCW's Bobby Guntoro was selected as the CAA Women's Swimming Coach of the Year and Northeastern’s Lauren Colby was chosen as the Women’s Diving Coach of the Year.

Stevenson competed in the 50, 100 and 200 free events at the NCAA Championship and broke her own school record in the 200 free with a time of 1:45.73. She was the CAA champion in the 100 free with a league record time of 48.37 and also claimed a silver medal in the 200 free (1:46.40) and bronze in the 50 free (22.67). She was a member of the Tribe’s CAA champion 200 (1:38.53) and 400 (3:36.15) medley relay teams that both broke conference records. Stevenson added a second-place effort in the 400 free relay and a third-place outing in the 800 free relay at the championship. She is the second straight CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Year from W&M, joining Missy Cundiff.
