Charleston, UNCW’s Fobes Complete Seasons at NCAA Women’s Golf Regionals

RALEIGH, N.C. and ATHENS, Ga. (May 10, 2023) – CAA women’s golf champion Charleston and UNCW senior Mallory Fobes completed their seasons in the third round of NCAA Regionals hosted by Georgia and NC State.
 
Charleston placed ninth out of 12 teams at the Athens Regional at the University of Georgia Golf Course after a 9-over 297 on the final day of the event. Viktoria Hund turned in her second-straight even-par 72 and carded an ace for the second consecutive day. Adrian Anderson was 1-over and Emma Schimpf was 2-over on the final day of Regional play.
 
Schimpf led the Cougars by finishing in a tie for 14th. Georgia, South Carolina, San Jose State, Ole Miss, Augusta, and Kent State’s Leon Takagi advanced to the NCAA Championship.
 
Fobes was even on the final day at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course to finish in a tie for 30th at 4-over for the tournament. Chattanooga’s Dorota Zalewska captured the individual qualifier to Grayhawk with a program-record 12-under performance to win medalist honors by four shots.
