RICHMOND, Va. (May 12, 2023) – Two teams will collect CAA Championship trophies this weekend, while four others will compete in NCAA Tournaments, and plenty is to be decided entering the penultimate series of the baseball regular season.
 
CAA Championships
The CAA Rowing Championship will be held on Friday at Fish Creek in Upstate New York. Action begins at 10:30 a.m. on FloLive. For Championship Central details, click HERE.
 
Down the Thruway from Saratoga, the fourth day of the CAA Softball Championship starts up Friday morning on Long Island. Updates can be found at the Championship Central page HERE; games can be seen on FloSoftball.
 
NCAA Championships
Four CAA programs and an individual will compete in NCAA Championships over the next four days.
 
Friday, CAA Women’s Lacrosse Champion No. 10 Stony Brook will face No. 20 Penn State in Baltimore (7 p.m., ESPN+); Drexel, which received an at-large selection into the field of 29, will take on No. 11 Maryland in Harrisonburg, Virginia (5 p.m., ESPN+). Sunday, No. 19 Delaware will play its second game of the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship when it faces top-seeded Duke in Durham (5 p.m., ESPNU). The Blue Hens will face the Blue Devils after rattling off 25 goals in their NCAA Opening Round win over Marist on Wednesday in Newark; the 25 on the scoreboard was the best by a CAA team in the history of the NCAA Tournament.
 
Monday morning will see CAA Men’s Golf Champion UNCW tee off in Norman, Oklahoma for the first of three rounds of NCAA Regional play. Meanwhile in Salem, South Carolina, CAA Golfer of the Year Kieron van Wyk will compete in a regional close by for the Charleston sophomore.
 
Baseball
Two weekends remain in the CAA baseball regular-season race, and there is plenty on the line. UNCW and Northeastern, the only two teams to have clinched berths in the CAA Baseball Championship, are separated by percentage points in the battle for the regular-season title and face tough tests. The Seahawks (27-18, 16-6 CAA) travel to fourth-place Charleston (30-17, 15-9 CAA), while the Huskies (37-9, 17-7 CAA) visit fifth-place William & Mary (30-19, 13-11). Elon (28-19, 15-8 CAA) can lock up a tournament spot with two wins in its series with North Carolina A&T (18-26, 10-15). Delaware (24-25, 13-11 CAA), which is tied for fifth place, welcomes Towson (16-34, 4-20 CAA) and Monmouth (15-25, 5-17) heads to Stony Brook (19-27, 10-14 CAA).
