INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May. 16, 2023) – The Northeastern women’s rowing team learned its seeding for the 2023 NCAA Rowing Championship, announced by the NCAA Seeding and Selection Committee Tuesday evening. The 2023 NCAA Rowing National Championship is scheduled for May 26-28 at the Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, N.J., with Temple University and Camden County Boathouse serving as hosts.

The Huskies Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight are seeded 18th, while their Varsity Four is seeded 20th.

Northeastern has earned a bid to the NCAA Championships nine straight seasons, and the Huskies are making their 12th appearance overall in program history. Last season, Northeastern placed 20th as a team, with the Huskies’ Varsity Four placing 19th and First Varsity Eight finishing 20th, while their Second Varsity Eight placed 21st.

The Huskies won their ninth consecutive CAA Rowing Championship on May 12, collecting their league-leading 12th CAA title in program history. Northeastern swept all four events for the first time since 2018, winning gold in the V4+, V8+ and 2V8.

The team championship is composed of 22 teams. Eleven conferences were awarded automatic qualification, and the remaining 11 slots were filled with at-large selections to complete the championship field. Teams qualifying for the championship as an automatic qualifier or as an at-large are required to field two boats of eight rowers and one boat of four rowers. For the I Eights, II Eights and Fours, all 22 boats will be seeded into four heats.
