Delaware’s Grant & Kurtz Earn Inside Lacrosse Media All-America Accolades

BALTIMORE, Md. (May 17, 2023) – Delaware men’s lacrosse redshirt seniors
Owen Grant and Tye Kurtz earned their second All-America honors this spring, garnering accolades from Inside Lacrosse Media Tuesday morning.
Grant, the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, was named First Team defense, while Kurtz, the CAA Offensive Player of the Year, was tabbed Third Team at attack.
It marks the third straight season Grant garners All-America recognition from IL Media, earning Third Team honors in 2021 and Second Team accolades last year. The Newmarket, Ont. native finished this season with a program record 38 caused turnovers, breaking his previous mark (35) set in 2022. Grant caused at least one turnover in 16 games, including two or more on 11 occasions. In addition, the redshirt senior tallied a career-best 57 ground balls, adding 10 points on seven points and three assists.
Kurtz had the best season of his career, earning his first All-America recognition last week from USA Lacrosse Magazine. The Puslinch, Ont. native set career highs in goals, assists (30) and points this season. Kurtz currently leads the NCAA with 88 points and ranks fourth with 58 goals. He tallied three or more goals in 11 games, with five or more points in 10. Additionally, the redshirt senior broke the CAA all-time records for career points (282) and goals (180) during the spring.
The duo was selected in the 2023 Premier Lacrosse League Draft last week. Grant was the second overall pick to the Redwoods LC, the highest selection in conference history, while Kurtz went 17th overall in the third round to Chaos LC.
