NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (May 2, 2023) – Stony Brook junior Ellie Masera has been selected as National Offensive Player of the Week by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association.

Masera closed out the regular season with a massive performance in the midfield for No. 11 Stony Brook, as the Tewaaraton nominee tallied five goals, four assists, 10 draw controls, and five caused turnovers in an 18-6 win over Hofstra. The assist, point, and caused turnover totals were all career-highs for Masera, who leads the league in goals, points, and draw controls per game. Masera was named CAA Player of the Week for the fourth time this season on Monday. Stony Brook is 12-3 on the year entering Thursday’s CAA semifinal vs. Delaware.

Masera is the third CAA player to earn a national honor from the IWLCA this season; Delaware’s Lizzie Yurchak was named Offensive Player of the Week on March 28 and Drexel’s Jenika Cuocco was selected as Defensive Player of the Week last Tuesday.
