Grant, Kurtz Collect USILA All-America Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 25, 2023) – Delaware men’s lacrosse redshirt seniors Owen Grant and Tye Kurtz earned their third All-America honors this season, collecting accolades from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Thursday afternoon. 
  
Grant, the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, was named First Team defense, while Kurtz, the CAA Offensive Player of the Year, was tabbed Third Team at attack.
 
Grant finished this season with a program record 38 caused turnovers, breaking his previous mark (35) set in 2022. He caused at least one turnover in 16 games, including two or more on 11 occasions, and ranks eighth in the NCAA with 2.11 caused turnovers per game. Additionally, the redshirt senior tallied a career-best 57 ground balls, adding 10 points on seven points and three assists. It marks the third consecutive All-America recognition for the Newmarket, Ont, native from USILA, earning Second Team accolades in 2022 and honorable mention in 2021. 
 
Kurtz, a first-time All-American, capped off a career year with his third honor this spring. The Puslinch, Ont. native set career highs in goals, assists (30) and points this season. Kurtz currently ranks second in the NCAA with 88 points and fifth with 58 goals while ranking top-10 nationally in points per game (4.89) and goals per game (3.22). In addition, the redshirt senior broke the CAA all-time records for career points (282) and goals (180) during the spring.
 
CAA Men’s Lacrosse has had multiple USILA All-America honorees every season since 2002.
