UNCW women’s golf senior Mallory Fobes holds a share of ninth place following Monday's first round of the NCAA Women's Golf Raleigh Regional at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course.

Fobes carded a one-under-par 71 to sit four strokes behind player leaders Lauren Olivares of NC State and Lottie Woad of Florida State. The host Wolfpack top the team leaderboard by one stroke over the Seminoles.

The East Bend, N.C., native, along with Arizona's Julia Misemer, topped the 66-player field with six birdies and rattled off three straight 1-unders on holes 15-17. Fobes' -1 (71) score matches the fourth-lowest 18-hole mark by a UNCW golfer at the NCAA Tournament.

Play resumes with the second round on Tuesday. Fobes is slated to tee off at 8:55 a.m. along with High Point's Sarah Kahn and Chattanooga's Dorota Zalewska.

CAA Champion Charleston stands in 11th place through 18 holes at the University of Georgia Golf Course. CAA Golfer of the Year Emma Schimpf was even on the afternoon and enters Tuesday in a tie for 13th. Schimpf had two birdies on the front nine and made par on her final nine holes.
