CAA Field Hockey Weekly Awards – Sept. 25

RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 25, 2023) – The CAA has announced its field hockey weekly award winners following the fifth week of the 2023 season. Drexel senior forward Eline Di Leva was named CAA Player of the Week, and Monmouth freshman midfielder Lauren Relik earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors after helping their respective teams to 2-0 weekends.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Eline Di Leva, Drexel
Senior | Forward | Lelystad, Netherlands / Almere College
Di Leva scored in both contests for Drexel, leading the Dragons to a 2-0 week, including their first CAA victory, with five points on two goals and one assist. On Friday, the junior forward tallied three points on one goal and one assist in a 5-1 win over Towson. She followed the effort by scoring the opening goal of a 2-1 victory over Saint Francis on Sunday. It marks the first time Di Leva has scored in back-to-back matches this fall, while she has at least one point in three straight contests. 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lauren Relik, Monmouth
Freshman | Midfield | Zwijndrecht, Belgium / Sint Maarten Campus
Relik helped Monmouth to a 2-0 week with her first career hat trick. The freshman midfielder scored three goals in the final 22 minutes of Monmouth’s 4-0 win over Boston U. Relik broke a scoreless tie with her first career tally in the 39th minute. She scored 15 seconds later to extend the lead before capping off the hat trick with the final Monmouth goal. In addition to a career-high 60 minutes against Boston U, Relik played 44 minutes in the midfield against No. 20 Delaware, helping the Hawks to a 2-1 victory.
