MANAHAWKIN, N.J. (Sept. 6, 2023) – Delaware senior forward
Kiki Oudshoorn was named the Offensive Player of the Week by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Wednesday afternoon.
The honor comes after being named the CAA Co-Player of the Week on Monday, her second CAA weekly award in as many weeks to begin the season.
Oudshoorn tallied 13 points on six goals and one assist, including back-to-back hat tricks to lead Delaware to a 2-0 week. Last Friday, the senior forward recorded a career-high seven points, adding an assist to her first career hat trick in an 8-0 win over Villanova. She followed the performance with three scores, including the game-winning goal in a 4-2 victory over Columbia.
The week propelled Delaware into the national rankings for the first time this season as the Blue Hens were slotted No. 19 in the country in yesterday’s NFHCA Top 20 Poll.
Oudshoorn has scored in all four games this season, including three straight multi-goal efforts. The Ede, Netherlands native leads the CAA with 19 points and nine goals this fall. In addition, she ranks first in the NCAA in goals per game (2.25) and second in points per game (4.75).
The Blue Hens are back in action with a pair of top-20 matchups this weekend. Delaware hosts No. 15 Princeton at 5 p.m. on Friday before visiting No. 11 Penn State at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
It marks the second straight season CAA Field Hockey has had a National Player of the Week recognized by the NFHCA.
