CAA Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards - Jan. 23

RICHMOND, Va. (January 23, 2024) – Drexel sophomore Sebastian Smith received CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week honors, while Northeastern freshman May Bradburn was chosen as the CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week after a pair of record-setting performances. Delaware swept the diving awards with Blue Hens’ sophomore Kevin Siegfried named Men’s Diver of the Week and senior Julia Servas selected as the Women’s Diver of the Week.
CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week
Sebastian Smith, So., Drexel (Wappingers, N.Y.)
Smith picked up a pair of victories in Drexel’s dual meet with Towson last weekend. The sophomore set a new pool record with a time of 20.31 in the 50 free, which was the third-fastest time in the conference this season. He also took the top spot in the 100 free with a time of 44.58.
CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week
May Bradburn, Fr., Northeastern (Chelmsford, England)
Bradburn tallied three first place finishes and broke two pool records at the Tate Ramsden Invitational. The freshman won the 100 free with a time of 50.44, which is the third-fastest in the CAA this season. She captured the 100 fly with a time of 54.98, which set a new pool record. Bradburn was also a member of NU’s winning 200 free relay team that set new meet and pool records with a time of 1:32.77.
CAA Men’s Diver of the Week
Kevin Siegfried, So., Delaware (Chalfont, Pa.)
Siegfried continued his strong season with solid performances on both boards in Delaware’s team victory at Seton Hall. The sophomore placed third on the 1-meter board with a score of 301.95 and compiled a score of 284.48 in the 3-meter competition.
CAA Women’s Diver of the Week
Julia Servas, Sr., Delaware (Darien, Conn.)
Servas recorded a pair of second place finishes to help Delaware post a team win at Seton Hall. The senior registered a score of 282.68 in the 1-meter competition and posted a score 271.56 on the 3-meter board.
