RICHMOND, Va. (October 15, 2024) –Hofstra swept the CAA cross country weekly accolades after a pair of impressive finishes at the METS Championship in Newark, N.J.
WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Isabella Gerena, Hofstra
Freshman | Sayville, N.Y.
Gerena placed ninth at the METS Championship last Saturday, helping Hofstra achieve a sixth-place team finish. The freshman completed the 5K race in a time of 18:28.08 to top all Pride runners.
MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Abraham Longosiwa, Hofstra
Junior | Eldoret, Kenya
Longosiwa became Hofstra’s first-ever individual champion at the METS Championship last Saturday. The junior finished the 8K event in a time of 23:29.99 to claim the spot in a field of 69 runners.
