RICHMOND, Va. (October 22, 2024) – Three student-athletes were honored as CAA Cross Country Runners of the Week awards following solid performances against a competitive field at the Princeton Fall Classic.
WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Grace Weigele, Stony Brook
Senior | Huntington Station, N.Y.
Weigele turned in a strong performance at the Princeton Fall Classic, finishing the 6K event with a time of 20:12.1. She placed 22
nd in a field of 236 runners.
MEN’S CO-RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Declan McDonnell, Monmouth
Senior | Rosemont, Pa.
McDonnell led an historic team finish for Monmouth at the Princeton Fall Classic on October 18. With McDonnell pacing the quintet, the Hawks accounted for their fastest 5-man average in program history. McDonnell completed the 8K race in 23:11.8 to claim 13th place individually out of 227 finishers.
MEN’S CO-RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Steven Struk, Stony Brook
Senior | Port Jervis, N.Y.
Struk turned in a career-best performance at the Princeton Fall Classic, completing the 8K course in a time of 24:07.9. The senior placed 76
th in a field of 227 runners.
