RICHMOND, Va. (Oct. 9, 2024) – N.C. A&T freshman Mauricio Alvarado and Charleston senior Emma Schimpf are the CAA Golfers of the Week for tournaments completed between October 2-8.
 
MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Mauricio Alvarado, N.C. A&T
Freshman | Metepec, Mexico / Argos Preparatory
Alvarado turned in a top-10 finish at The Carolina Cup in Spartanburg to lead N.C. A&T. The freshman from Mexico shot even par to open his week and recorded seven birdies in on the week to go 72-74-75 and tie for ninth at the event.
 
WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Emma Schimpf, Charleston
Senior | Daniel Island, S.C. / Oceanside Collegiate Academy
Schimpf ran away with the Evie Odom Invitational, earning medalist honors at 10-under. The senior from South Carolina won by three shots, going 68-66-66 at the par-70 Princess Anne Country Club and sinking a hole-in-one in the final round. Charleston won the event as a team by 17 shots.
