RICHMOND, Va. (November 13, 2024) – CAA Commissioner Joe D’Antonio was presented with the 2024 Eastern Association of Intercollegiate Football Officials (E.A.I.F.O.) Murray Lewis Award on Monday night at the organization's Boston Chapter annual awards banquet.

D’Antonio received the award in recognition of his lifelong contribution to college football. Former recipients of the award with ties to the CAA Football Conference (previously the Yankee Conference), include Dan Allen (Boston University), Jack Bicknell (Maine), Bill Bowes (New Hampshire), Rocky Hager (Northeastern), Sean McDonnell (New Hampshire), Tim Murphy (Maine) and Bob Pickett (UMass).

D’Antonio is in his ninth year as Commissioner of the CAA. During his tenure, CAA Football has grown to 16 members, which is the largest among FCS conferences. The league has had multiple teams in the FCS playoffs each year, with at least one team reaching the quarterfinals each season. A CAA team has advanced to the semifinals in seven of the last eight years, and the conference earned its sixth national championship in 2016.
