Hofstra’s Laurie Goddard Selected NCAA National Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, In. (Nov. 14, 2024) – Hofstra junior midfielder Laurie Goddard has been named the NCAA Men’s Soccer National Player of the Week following two stellar performances in CAA Championship play.
Two wins separated Hofstra and a fifth consecutive CAA Championship game appearance. The Pride kicked off the postseason with a matchup against No. 5 Charleston, where Goddard found the back of the net in the space of five minutes, helping his side to a 3-2 overtime victory.
Three days later, Hofstra took on No. 1 Elon, and the Englishman was at the forefront of the attack netting the Pride’s two goals in the 2-0 win. The brace marked the first two-goal game of his career in Hempstead and marked his fifth goal in the last six games.
Hofstra faces UNCW on Saturday night in the CAA Men’s Soccer Championship final. Saturday’s matchup can be found on FloFC.
