FIve CAA Football Teams Ranked In Latest FCS Top 25 Polls

RICHMOND, Va. (November 18, 2024) – Five CAA Football teams are ranked in the latest FCS Top 25 polls released by Stats Perform and the AFCA on Monday.
 
Richmond (9-2) remained at #7 in the AFCA poll and moved up to #10 in the Stats poll after defeating Hampton, 24-21, last week for its ninth consecutive win. The Spiders, who earned a share of the CAA title and an automatic bid to the FCS playoffs, host William & Mary on Saturday for the Capital Cup.
 
Villanova (8-3) dropped to #14 in the AFCA rankings and #15 in the Stats rankings following a 40-33 setback at Monmouth last Saturday. The Wildcats host rival Delaware in the Battle of the Blue this week.
 
Rhode Island (9-2) rose to #13 in the Stats poll and #15 in the AFCA poll after rallying past UAlbany, 20-17, last week. The Rams, who tied a program record for regular-season wins, make the short trip to Bryant on Saturday.
 
Stony Brook (8-3) slid to #18 in the Stats rankings and #20 in the AFCA rankings after being edged, 31-30, at New Hampshire last Saturday. The Seawolves return home to face Monmouth this week.
 
New Hampshire (7-4) moved back into the Stats poll at #24 and received votes in the AFCA poll after its 31-30 comeback win over Stony Brook. The Wildcats visit Maine on Saturday in the Battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket.
 
William & Mary (7-4), which topped Bryant 22-12 last week, was among others receiving votes in both polls. The Tribe travels to rival Richmond on Saturday with the Capital Cup on the line.
 
Hampton (5-6) Is ranked #9 in the HBCU FCS Coaches Poll. The Pirates travel to UAlbany on Saturday.
