Monmouth's Robertson Named Stats Perform FCS National Offensive Player Of The Week

RICHMOND, Va. (November 18, 2024) – Monmouth senior quarterback Derek Robertson has been selected as the Stats Perform FCS National Offensive Player of the Week following his outstanding performance in the Hawks’ 40-33 victory over #8/#9 Villanova last Saturday.

Robertson was nearly perfect in completing 22-of-23 (95.6%) pass attempts for 358 yards and three touchdowns. He connected on 6-, 32- and 19-yard scores in the first half, and set up two third-quarter TDs with 59- and 36-yard completions. His passes accounted for 12 of the Hawks’ 18 first downs, and he had a 269.4 passer rating. Robertson’s completion percentage was the best in FCS this season.

Robertson is the seventh CAA player to earn national honors from Stats Perform this season, joining Elon running back TJ Thomas (Freshman), Stony Brook running back Roland Dempster (Offensive), Villanova running back David Avit (Freshman), Elon kick returner Chandler Brayboy (Special Teams), Villanova linebacker Shane Hartzell (Defensive) and Richmond kicker Sean O’Haire (Special Teams). Maine was also recognized as the National Team of the Week.

Along with Robertson’s award, Delaware quarterback Nick Minicucci and Richmond running back Zach Palmer-Smith received honorable mention as National Offensive Player of the Week, William & Mary safety Marcus Barnes, UAlbany linebacker Dontae Lunan and New Hampshire linebacker Ryan Toscano earned honorable mention as National Defensive Player of the Week, William & Mary punt returner Carson Jenkins and Elon punter Jeff Yurk got honorable mention as National Special Teams Player of the Week and UAlbany quarterback Van Weber garnered honorable mention as National Freshman Player of the Week.
