Hofstra Faces Off with Vermont in Second Round of NCAA Tournament

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - (Nov. 23, 2024) – CAA Men’s Soccer Hofstra will face Vermont in the Second Round of the 2024 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship. The Pride will compete in its ninth NCAA Championship, and eighth under head coach Richard Nuttall.
Earning a first-round bye with the seventh seed in the tournament, Hofstra watched on as Vermont defeated Iona 5-0 on Thursday night to advance. The two sides will face off in Hempstead, N.Y. on Sunday at 5 p.m.
Hofstra (14-4-2) won its fourth-straight CAA Men’s Soccer Championship and a conference-high eighth overall with a 1-0 win over UNCW.
Laurie Goddard picked up the Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament with three goals in the playoff stretch.
The Pride has played Vermont four times, splitting the series 2-2. Hofstra has won the last two matches against the Catamounts, with the most recent coming on Aug. 30, 2015, by a score of 5-0.
