Monmouth, Stony Brook Meet Saturday in New Jersey for CAA Women’s Soccer Title

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (Nov. 8, 2024) – Monmouth and Stony Brook played to a draw in early October and shared the regular season title in CAA Women’s Soccer as the month came to a close.
 
With the calendar turned to November, the Hawks (12-2-5) and Seawolves (13-3-3) meet Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn with both teams in search of their first CAA title.
 
Monmouth took home at least a share of five of six major awards in the league, with CAA Attacking Player of the Year Summer Reimet leading the offense. Reimet’s 13 goals lead the CAA by a three-goal margin following a brace in Sunday’s 4-2 CAA Semifinal victory over Hofstra. Monmouth is third in the league with 38 goals and paces the conference with a 0.789 goals-against average and Cassie Coster’s nine shutouts.
 
Stony Brook won its CAA Semifinal, 2-1, over Elon, with the game-winner coming from Linn Beck, who earned a share of CAA Midfielder of the Year honors. The Seawolves’ 45 goals lead the league and rank 14th nationally. Luciana Setteducate’s 10 goals are second in the league behind Reimet.
 
Saturday’s game can be seen on FloFC. The winner will earn the CAA’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament with the destination learned on Monday afternoon.
