INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 1, 2024) – Eight days after winning its second CAA Championship, Charleston (25-8) learned it will meet fourth-seeded Utah (24-5)
in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, December 5. The first serve is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. from Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The winner will go on to face the winner of fifth-seeded Marquette and Florida Gulf Coast’s first-round battle.

Entering as the top seed in the CAA tournament, the Cougars defeated second-seeded Delaware in the Championship game 3-2. Allie Holland was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after a brilliant showing in the postseason with 17 kills, 12 blocks, and five digs over the two matches, including seven kills and seven blocks against the Blue Hens.

The Cougars are set to appear in its 10th NCAA Tournament, and first since 2017. Charleston has advanced twice out of the first round, most recently coming in 2012, defeating Miami before falling 3-0 to the regional hosts Florida.

Charleston and Utah have never met in the two programs' history, and both sides hope to start their series with a win and a ticket to the next round.
