CAA Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards - Dec. 10

RICHMOND, Va. (December 10, 2024) – Monmouth freshmen Victor Pottier Ibanez and Emilie Mosner received CAA swimming weekly honors after record-setting performances at the ECAC Winter Championships, while Delaware juniors Kevin Siegfried and Alex Pastris earned CAA diving weekly honors following winning efforts in a dual meet at West Chester.
CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Victor Pottier Ibanez, Fr., Monmouth (Barcelona, Spain)
Pottier Ibanez set a pair of school records in helping Monmouth earn a second-place team finish at the ECAC Winter Championship. The freshman broke the MU mark in the 100 breast with a time of 56.09, which is 12
th-fastest in the CAA this season, and set a new school standard in the 200 breast with a time of 2:00.74, which is 6
th-best in the CAA. He was also a member of Monmouth’s 200 and 400 medley relay teams that placed second.
CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Emilie Mosner, Fr., Monmouth (Lititz, Pa.)
Mosner recorded two individual first-place finishes and was part of two winning relay teams to help Monmouth place second at the ECAC Winter Championship. The freshman took the top spot in the 100 breast with a school-record time of 1:03.14, which is the 8
th-fastest mark in the CAA this season. She captured the 200 breast with a time of 2:19.95, which is 12
th-fastest in the conference. Mosner was also a member of the Hawks’ first-place teams in the 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay.
CAA Men’s Diver of the Week
Kevin Siegfried, Jr., Delaware (Chalfont, Pa.)
Siegfried posted a first and second-place finish as part of Delaware’s team victory at West Chester last week. The junior captured the 3-meter competition with a score of 295.13 and placed second to teammate Philip Townsend on the 1-meter board with a score of 302.18.
CAA Women’s Diver of the Week
Alex Pastris, Jr., Delaware (Broomall, Pa.)
Pastris swept both boards to help lead Delaware to a team win at West Chester last week. The junior compiled a score of 317.10 in the 3-meter event and added a winning score of 283.73 in the 1-meter competition.
