RICHMOND, Va. (December 12, 2024) – Northeastern senior Benjamin Godish was selected as the CAA Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Year for the second straight season in a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Joining Godish as major award winners were William & Mary freshman Carson Rackley, who was chosen as the CAA Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Year, and Stony Brook’s Andy Ronan, who received CAA Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year honors for the third consecutive season.

Godish went back-to-back as the individual winner at the CAA Men’s Cross Country Championship on November 1, finishing in a time of 24:11.40. He followed that performance with a 14th-place finish (30:17) at the NCAA Northeast Regional, which earned him All-Region honors for the third year in a row. Earlier in the season, Godish placed 13th against a strong field at the Paul Short Run.

Rackley was the top freshman finisher at the CAA Men’s Cross Country Championship, crossing the line in a time of 25:09.9 to take ninth place overall and earn all-conference honors. During the season, the freshman placed 26th overall at the ECU Pirate Invitational (24:39) and finished 69th at the Panorama Farms Invitational (24:41). He is W&M’s first men’s Rookie of the Year since 2017.

Ronan picked up his third Coach of the Year award after guiding Stony Brook to a third straight CAA title. In the closest finish in conference history, the Seawolves edged Northeastern by just one point to claim the championship. Stony Brook had five runners finish in the top 17, including three in the top eight.

The top 15 finishers from the CAA Championship were recognized as all-conference performers. Those honorees are listed in alphabetical order.
