RICHMOND, Va. (Dec. 16, 2024) –  A quiet week saw just nine games fill out the schedule, however some big individual performances and program records make up this week’s #CAAHoops WBB Notebook.

NEWS AND NOTES
 
Scorers Across the Floor
Delaware is one of a handful of teams to have four of its five most consistent starters averaging 10+ ppg this season. Ande’a Cherisier leads the way for the Blue Hens (11.3 ppg), while Rebecca Demeke continues to have a career year averaging 10.7 ppg. Tara Cousins (10.3) and Chloe Wilson (10.0) round out Delaware’s list, for a team that as a whole is shooting a conference best 34.9% from deep.
 
Second Chance Provider
With an average of 6.0 per game, Charleston’s Lara Rohkohl leads the nation in offensive rebounds this season. The junior center/forward has tallied seven or more in five competitions this campaign, highlighted by a season-high eight against North Dakota State. Rohkohl leads the CAA in total rebounds as well (10.9) and is the lone conference player to average a double-double with 10.9 ppg.
 
Growth of the Game
Five CAA student-athletes sit within the top 30 nationally for minutes per game this season with Drexel, Hofstra, Towson, and N.C. A&T is represented on the list.

It’s A Block Party 
Zyheima Swift entered the record book against St. John’s after recording her 100th career block. The graduate student has reached double-digit blocks in her previous four seasons, with 2023-24 being a career year for Swift with 37 rejections. The New Jersey native has eight blocks already this season, averaging .889 blocks per game, ranking her 12th in the conference.

TEAM NOTES
 
Campbell
Monday’s attendance against Guilford  (2,845) was the sixth highest for a women’s basketball game since Gore Arena opened in 2008-09.
 
Charleston
Through eight games, Charleston has allowed a conference-low 416 points to its opponents, averaging 52,0.
 
Delaware
The Blue Hens outscored Villanova in the second and fourth quarters of the game and outpaced Villanova  38-35 in the second half.
 
Drexel
Drexel is shooting a conference-high 73.8% from the charity stripe.

Elon
Hannah Dereje had a season-high seven rebounds with 10 points against USC.
 
Hampton
Jenae Dublin scored a season-high 18 points and registered a double-double with 10 rebounds against East Carolina.
 
Hofstra
The Pride outrebounded St. John’s, 35-32.
 
Monmouth
Taisha Exanor sits third in the CAA in rebounding, averaging 8.9 through 10 games.

N.C. A&T
Jordyn Dorsey has a team-high and is second in the conference with 16.3 ppg.
 
UNCW
Ali Zelaya ranks 19th in blocks (23) and is within the top 40 for rebounds (97) and rebounds per game (9.7) in the nation.

Northeastern
Abigail Jegede’s 20 points against UMass were a season-high across all Huskies.

 Stony Brook
Stony Brook is holding its opponents to a conference-low 22.6% from deep across its first nine games.

Towson
Freshman Khady Leye sits second on the team in points per game (11.0), behind India Johnston (12.7).

William & Mary
Bella Nascimento is the Tribe’s lone double-digit scorer, averaging an impressive 12.6 ppg across 10 games.
