CAA Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards – Dec. 17

RICHMOND, Va. (Dec. 17, 2024) – Monmouth swept this week’s CAA Indoor Track and Field weekly awards, following its participation in the Seahawk Shootout on Staten Island. Seniors Yasmeen TinsleyVeronica ChainovAhmad Brock, and redshirt senior Dalton Yeust took home honors for the Hawks, for the week ending on Dec. 16.
 
WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Yasmeen Tinsley, Monmouth
Senior | Jumps/Hurdles | Arlington, VA/ Washington Liberty High School
Tinsley earned her second consecutive weekly honor, after setting her third program record in the season’s first two weeks. The senior completed a rare 60-600 double, impressively winning the 60-meter and 600-meter. Tinsley’s 60-meter dash time of 7.48 was the fastest in program history and set the conference lead, while her 600-meter run time of 1:35.13 was sixth quickest in Hawks history.
 
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Veronica Chainov, Monmouth
Senior | Jumps | Beer Sheva, Israel / Mekif Gimel High School
Chainov topped Monmouth’s record books at the Seahawk Shootout. The senior high jumped 1.80m (5' 10.75") to take over first place in Hawks' history as well as the No. 1 spot on the CAA's early-season performance list. The height is tied for fourth overall amongst all NCAA Division I athletes, and Chainov is one of six women to secede 5’10” in Division I circles this season.

MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ahmad Brock, Monmouth
Senior | Jumps| Egg Harbor Township, NJ / Egg Harbor Township High School
Brock had a stellar performance in the 60-meter dash moving up to second on Monmouth’s all-time-performance list for the event with a first-place time of 6.76s. The Jersey Shore native is tied for 35th overall on the NCAA Division I leader board. 

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Dalton Yeust, Monmouth
Redshirt Senior | Pole Vault | Tunkhannock, PA / Tunkhannock Area
Yeust won the pole vault competition clearing 4.95m at the Seahawk Shootout. His height takes the CAA lead by almost a full foot and means he is one of 46 Division I pole vaulters to have been successful at the height this season.
