Khady Leye are the CAA women’s basketball weekly award winners for the week ending December 1.

Clinton averaged 15.5 points on 50% FG shooting and 3.5 steals in Hampton’s 1-1 week, which included a victory over SEC foe Georgia. The graduate student guard started her week with an 11-point performance against Eastern Kentucky, before playing a pivotal role in the first win by a CAA school over a Power Four opponent this season. Down 16 in the fourth quarter, Clinton helped rally the Pirates to a 76-74 overtime victory against Georgia with a season-high 20 points and five steals. Clinton is averaging a team-best 13.8 ppg and is tied for the CAA lead in steals (2.8 spg).

Chloe Hodges, Drexel
Graduate Student | Forward | Adelaide, Australia / St. Michael’s College
Hodges turned in an outstanding all-around performance as Drexel suffered an 86-78 road loss at an unbeaten Penn State team that was receiving votes in the Top 25. The Dragons’ forward scored 20 points on 8-15 shooting and contributed seven boards, five assists, and five steals. Hodges had a season high in points, assists, steals, field goals made (8), and 3-pointers made (4).
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Khady Leye, Towson
Freshman | Forward | Louga, Senegal / SPIRE Academy
Leye averaged 12.5 points and seven rebounds on 58% shooting across her two games in the Puerto Rico Clásico. Towson opened the tournament against UTSA, with the freshman forward having six points and seven rebounds. One day later, Leye was at the forefront of Towson’s first win of the season over Youngstown State. Shooting 9-13 from the field, the Senegalese native had a career-high 19 points and chipped in with seven boards including two offensive.
