RICHMOND, Va. (December 20, 2024) – Post-season accolades continue to roll in for CAA Football standouts as three more outlets announced FCS All-America and Freshman All-America teams this week.
Six CAA players were recognized as first team All-Americans by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). Making the squad were William & Mary senior offensive lineman
Charles Grant, Richmond senior defensive end
Jeremiah Grant, New Hampshire senior defensive end
Josiah Silver, William & Mary junior defensive back
Jalen Jones, Elon senior kick returner/receiver
Chandler Brayboy and Elon junior punter
Jeff Yurk.
The CAA had 16 players recognized as FCS All-Americans by the
Phil Steele College Football Yearbook, highlighted by Charles Grant being honored as the FCA Offensive Lineman of the Year and Brayboy being tabbed as the FCS Special Teams Player of the Year. Named to the All-America first team were William & Mary’s Grant, Towson senior tight end
Carter Runyon, Richmond’s Grant, Rhode Island junior linebacker
A.J. Pena, William & Mary’s Jones, Elon junior defensive back
Caleb Curtain and Elon’s Brayboy. Making the second team were New Hampshire’s Silver and Elon’s Yurk. Selected to the third team were Stony Brook senior running back
Roland Dempster, Villanova junior linebacker
Shane Hartzell and Villanova senior defensive back
Isas Waxter. Fourth team honorees included Monmouth senior quarterback
Derek Robertson, Bryant senior wide receiver
Landon Ruggieri, Rhode Island sophomore wide receiver

FCS Football Central on SI named 14 players from the CAA as All-Americans. Chosen to the first team were William & Mary’s Grant, Richmond’s Grant, Rhode Island’s Pena, William & Mary’s Jones and Elon’s Yurk. Selected to the second team were Stony Brook’s Dempster, Bryant’s Ruggieri, Towson’s Runyon, Stony Brook senior defensive lineman
Rushawn Lawrence, New Hampshire’s Silver and Elon’s Brayboy. Picked for the third team were Monmouth’s Robertson, Villanova graduate linebacker
Brendan Bell and New Hampshire graduate defensive back

There were 15 CAA players selected to the Phil Steele Freshman All-America squad. Earning first honors were Elon defensive lineman
