Khady Leye are the CAA women’s basketball weekly award winners for the week ending December 29.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LaNae’ Corbett, Hofstra
Forward | Freshman | Upper Marlboro, MD / Bishop McNamara
Corbett scored a career-high 24 points to help Hofstra close out 2024 with a 59-43 win over Iona. The Maryland native, who tallied 16 points in the first half, finished 11-of-16 from the floor and added six rebounds, four steals, two assists, and one block. Corbett set career highs in points, assists, blocks, steals, and field goals made.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Khady Leye, Towson
Freshman | Forward | Louga, Senegal / SPIRE Academy
Leye earned her third CAA Rookie of the Week award after a strong performance against Ivy League opponent Columbia. The Senegalese forward scored nine points, tied for the team lead with six rebounds and set career highs with two blocks and four steals. Leye sits third on the team with 10.8 ppg and is shooting 48.1% from the floor.
