LONG BEACH, Calif. (Dec. 31, 2024) – Four CAA women’s soccer players were recognized by Top Drawer Soccer, with two as members of the Top 100 team for the 2024 campaign and two being named to the Top 100 Freshman List.
Stony Brook’s Linn Beck and Monmouth’s Lauren Bruno were honored on the Top 100 list, while Monmouth’s Ashley Lavrich and William and Mary’s Peyton Costello were named to the Top 100 Freshman list.
Beck’s highly decorated season earned her the No. 96 spot on the list. The junior garnered CAA Co-Midfielder and All-CAA honors this season alongside being named a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American. Beck finished the season with 10 goals and six assists, including what proved to be the game-winning goal in Stony Brook’s win over Monmouth in the CAA Championship, earning Most Outstanding Performer honors for the tournament.
Bruno cracked the list at the No. 100 spot in a season that saw her named CAA Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. The graduate student started all 20 matches for Monmouth, captaining the backline to a conference-best nine shutouts. Bruno and the Hawks held 14 of 20 opponents to one goal or less in the 2024 season. Offensively, she had a career-high four assists this campaign.
Lavrich ranks the highest amongst all women’s soccer players on both lists, earning the No. 54 spot. Tabbed the 2024 CAA Rookie of the Year, the freshman forward/midfielder started all 20 contests for Monmouth and finished the season third on the team with 18 points on five goals and eight assists. The three-time CAA Rookie of the Week ranked first in the conference in assists and was the only freshman to be named to an all-conference team this season, earning second-team honors.
Costello placed No. 64 after a CAA All-Rookie season. The freshman defender wasted no time making an impact in her first collegiate season, scoring in her debut against Radford. Finishing the season with three goals and two assists, Costello’s eight points were good for third most on the season. She scored game-winning goals against in-state foes VCU and Richmond. The New York native helped bolster a backline that charted seven shutouts in her 16 starts including a three-game stretch from Sept. 12-22.
