Nine CAA Men’s Soccer Players Recognized by Top Drawer Soccer’s Top 100

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Dec. 31, 2024) – Nine CAA men’s soccer players were recognized by Top Drawer Soccer, with four as members of the Top 100 team for the 2024 campaign and five being named to the Top 100 Freshman List.
Drexel forward Dominick Bachstein, Monmouth defender Gabe Dahlin, Elon midfielder Scott Vatne, Monmouth goalkeeper Eryk Dymora, have been named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Top 100 for the 2024 season.
Delaware forward Marius Stenner, William & Mary forward Tre Barrett, UNCW midfielder Osei Gyamfi, Monmouth forward Victor Andersson, and Northeastern defender Ethan Leary earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Top 100 Freshman list.
Bachstein placed No. 62 in a season which saw him rank amongst the nation’s best goal scorers. Netting an impressive 12 goals in 16 games, the Pennsylvania native finished the season with 30 points, the highest tally of any Dragon since the team joined the conference in 2002. Bachstein ranked in the CAA’s top five in most statistical attacking categories including goals, points, shots per game (2.75), shots on goal per game (1.50), and game-winning goals (3). The graduate student forward garnered All-CAA First Team honors.
Dahlin is the conference’s only defender to make the list, placing No. 65. The CAA’s Defender of the Year played a key role in a backline that had eight shutouts and held 13 opponents to one goal or less this season. Offensively, Dahlin tacked on a goal and an assist, including scoring the game-tying goal at Campbell and picking up an assist as the Hawks beat Penn to record their second win over a Top 12 team this season.
Vatne’s career season for the Phoenix earned him the No. 68 spot on the list after setting personal highs in goals, points, and assists. The CAA Player of the Year had a superb campaign in and around goal, leading Elon with 10 goals and seven assists for 27 points. Vatne was second in the CAA in goals and points while finishing third in the CAA in assists, being the only player to be top three in all three categories. The senior midfielder was selected to the All-CAA First Team for the third consecutive season.
Dymora moved up six spots from the Top Drawer Soccer’s Midseason Top 100 list, placing No. 75 as the conference’s only goalkeeper. Earning All-CAA First Team honors for the second straight season, the redshirt junior sat ninth in the nation with eight shutouts, and 11th allowing an impressive .740 goals per game. Dymora recorded a season-high seven saves against Iona and later matched that mark at William & Mary.
Stenner ranked the highest among any CAA freshman, both male and female, placing No. 21. The 2024 CAA Rookie of the Year and All-CAA First Team selection had a spectacular season accruing 23 points with a team-high nine goals and five assists. Stenner ranked fifth in the nation with five goals being game-winners, becoming the only freshman to achieve this accolade. At the conference level, the Danish forward was awarded Rookie of the Week twice, and Co-Offensive Player of the Week once.
Barrett moved up one place from Top Drawer Soccer’s Midseason Freshman Top 100 list, earning the No. 65 spot. The Virginia native made an instant impact, scoring in the season opener before adding two more goals and a team-high five assists. Barrett's best performance came in the Tribe’s 4-0 win over UNCW on Sept. 28, when he tallied five points off a brace with an assist. The forward was recognized on the CAA All-Rookie Team.
Gyamfi placed No. 74 off a season which saw him earn CAA All-Rookie Accolades. The Ghanian midfielder became the first Seahawk since 2022 to make the list, after tallying an impressive five goals and two assists. Gyamfi’s biggest moment came in the CAA Championship Semifinals, sending UNCW through to the final game for the first time in five seasons with his game-winning goal.
Andersson earned the No. 79 spot in a season which saw him start all 16 games at forward. The Swedish forward finished third on the team with seven points on three goals and one assist, with all three tallies being game-winners. Andersson garnered CAA All-Rookie Team honors.
Leary is the CAA’s only defender on the list, coming in at the No. 97 spot. The 6-1 defender started 14 of Northeastern’s 16 games, playing the full 90 minutes in 13 games. Leary played a key role in a backline that held its opponents scoreless five times this campaign.
