WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 15, 2024) – Three CAA Men’s Lacrosse student-athletes – two from Delaware and one from Stony Brook – were named to the Tewaaraton Watch List announced Wednesday evening.
Stony Brook graduate attackman Dylan Pallonetti, Delaware attackmen graduate Mike Robinson and senior JP Ward were recognized by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
Pallonetti was named Preseason CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Year, coming off a season in which he ranked 10th nationally in goals (52) and 19th in points (70) en route to First Team All-CAA honors. The graduate student also garnered USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-America honorable mention recognition ahead of the 2024 season. Pallonetti has seven points on five goals and two assists, including multiple goals in both contests this spring.
Robinson is a two-time All-CAA honoree, earning First Team accolades in 2021 and Second Team honors in 2022 before Preseason All-America honorable mention in 2024. Last season, the graduate tallied 48 points on 32 goals and 16 assists. The Peterborough, Ont. native opened the spring with a seven-goal performance against Lafayette, earning him CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors and a spot on the USILA DI Team of the Week.
Ward shared Preseason CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors with Pallonetti after back-to-back First Team All-CAA accolades in 2023. He ranked third in the NCAA with 85 points and fifth with 43 assists last season and garnered Preseason All-America honorable mention honors with Robinson before this spring. In Delaware's season-opener, he scored twice and tallied three assists, inching closer to the 100-goal and 100-point club.
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.
Players not named to this initial list will have opportunities to play their way into a spot as the season progresses. Watch List additions will be announced on March 7 and March 28, before the field will be narrowed to 25 men’s and 25 women’s nominees on April 18. Nominees can be players from the Watch Lists or not from the Watch Lists, effectively allowing for a third round of additions.
Five men’s and five women’s finalists will be announced in early May. The Tewaaraton Award recipients will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season.
