RICHMOND, Va. (March 11, 2024) – Stony Brook graduate student Kailyn Hart, Delaware graduate student Madison Hranicka, Hofstra redshirt freshman Nikki Mennella, and Drexel freshman Ellie Wall are the winners of the CAA Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards presented by Primis for the week ending March 10.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kailyn Hart, Stony Brook
Graduate Student | Attack | North Babylon, N.Y. / North Babylon
Hart tallied 11 points in a 1-1 week that included an overtime victory over No. 5 Syracuse. The grad student from Long Island had six of them in the Seawolves’ 13-12 thriller at the Dome on five goals and an assist and added four goals and an assist in Saturday’s setback against No. 15 Johns Hopkins in Charlotte. A player from No. 12 Stony Brook has earned at least a share of Player of the Week honors in each of the last four weeks.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Madison Hranicka, Delaware
Graduate Student | Defense | Mendham, N.J. / West Morris Mendham
Hranicka had a ridiculous week for 7-1 Delaware, totaling 16 caused turnovers and 13 ground balls in a 2-0 week with wins over Lafayette and Wagner. The grad student from New Jersey notched a CAA-record 11 caused turnovers and added eight ground balls in a soggy 13-3 win over the Leopards before tallying five and five in a victory on Staten Island. Hranicka, who has been Defensive Player of the Week in three of the year’s first five weeks, leads the nation in caused turnovers per game (4.75) and is second in ground balls (4.75).

CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Nikki Mennella, Hofstra
Redshirt Freshman | Attack | Smithtown, N.Y. / Smithtown West
Mennella recorded five goals, two assists, and eight draw controls in Hofstra’s 2-0 week with wins over Wagner and Marist. CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ellie Wall, Drexel
Freshman | Midfield | Duxbury, Mass. / Duxbury
Wall helped Drexel to a win over No. 16 Navy as part of a four-goal performance in the Dragons’ two games against a challenging slate.
