Seven CAA Players Named to ILWomen Midseason All-America Lists

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 28, 2024) – Seven CAA women’s lacrosse players – five from Stony Brook and one each from Drexel and Delaware – have been named to ILWomen’s Midseason All-America lists.
 
Stony Brook’s Ellie Masera was named a first-team selection, Drexel’s Jenika Cuocco and Stony Brook’s Clare Levy were picked for the third team, and Delaware’s Steph Marszal and Stony Brook’s Alex Finn, Kailyn Hart, and Avery Hines were selected as honorable mention recipients.
 
Masera has scored 41 goals, added 15 assists and collected 72 draw controls this season for an 8-2 Stony Brook squad ranked 15th in the ILWomen/IWLCA poll this week. She ranks second in the country in goals per game (4.56), third in points per game (6.22) and is tied for 10th in draw controls per game (8.0). She leads the CAA in goals, points and shots and ranks second in draw controls for Stony Brook, which holds a marquee win at Syracuse on its resume.

Cuocco is second in the nation in save percentage (.577), fifth in saves per game (11.20), and sixth in goals-against average (8.20) for a 7-3 Drexel team receiving votes in both national polls. She has a .722 save percentage and 5.00 GAA in league play for Drexel, which has defeated two ranked teams (Navy, Penn State) in 2024.
 
Levy has put up 38 draw controls, 17 ground balls and eight caused turnovers in 2024, captaining a defense that ranks sixth in the country in scoring defense. She has also added four goals and three assists offensively. Levy's 3.8 draw controls per game ranks eighth in the league.

Finn has 17 goals and 35 assists this season, ranking third in the country in assists per game (3.5) and 11th in points per game (5.2). Her eight assists against Campbell on March 24 set a career high and helped the Seawolves break a team single-game record in points (39) and tie the single game record in assists (18).

Hart has scored 30 goals and dished out nine assists, ranking tied for 30th in the country in goals per game (3.33) and tied for 46th in assists per game (4.33), ranking second and fourth, respectively in the CAA. She has scored five goals in four games this season, including in a key 13-12 overtime victory at No. 5 Syracuse on March 5.

Hines ranks sixth in the country and second in the league in caused turnovers per game, averaging 2.5 per game. She also leads the team in ground balls with 20. Hines has had multiple caused turnovers in eight of Stony Brook's 10 games this season and has multiple ground balls in eight games. She put up a career-high five caused turnovers and three ground balls against Elon on March 22.
 
Marszal has emerged as one of the nation’s top goalkeepers in her first season on the field for the Blue Hens, ranking fourth nationally in save percentage (.527) and 11th in goals-against average (8.79).
