CAA Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards – March 4

RICHMOND, Va. (March 4, 2024) – The CAA has announced its men’s lacrosse weekly awards for the week of Feb. 26 through Mar. 3. Towson graduate attackman Nick DeMaio was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week, and Drexel junior goalkeeper Drew McGill earned CAA Defensive Player of the Week accolades. In addition, Monmouth freshman Brendan Dundas received CAA Rookie of the Week recognition.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nick DeMaio, Towson
Graduate | Attack | San Diego, Calif. / Coronado
DeMaio paced the Towson attack with 13 points on six goals and seven assists over two games last week. On Saturday, the graduate attackman matched his season and career-high with nine points against UMBC. DeMaio logged four goals and five assists in the 17-7 victory, adding two ground balls and one caused turnover. Earlier in the week, DeMaio had team highs with four points, two assists and two caused turnovers, netting two goals in an overtime setback to Loyola (Md.).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Drew McGill, Drexel
Junior | Goalkeeper | Mountain Brook, Ala. / The Hill School
McGill tallied 13 saves and posted a season-best .684 save percentage, leading Drexel to a 12-6 victory over Sacred Heart on Saturday. The junior logged all 60 minutes between the pipes, limiting the Pioneers to two or fewer goals in all four quarters. McGill has double-digit saves in all four games, leading the CAA in saves per game (14.75) and save percentage (.621) this spring.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Brendan Dundas, Monmouth

Dundas tallied nine points on six goals and three assists for Monmouth in a 2-0 week. The freshman netted hat tricks in victories over Wagner and Mount St. Mary’s, marking his second and third this spring. On Tuesday, Dundas recorded a season-high five points with three goals and two assists, adding three ground balls in a 12-6 win over Wagner. He followed the effort with four points on three goals and one assist in a 13-12 double-overtime victory over Mount St. Mary’s on Saturday.
