CAA Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards – April 1

RICHMOND, Va. (April 1, 2024) – The CAA has announced its men’s lacrosse weekly awards for the week of March 25 through March 31. Fairfield graduate attackman Bryce Ford was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week, with Hofstra redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Sean Henderson and Towson junior goalkeeper Luke Downs sharing CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors. In addition, Fairfield freshman long-stick midfielder Julian Radossich received CAA Rookie of the Week accolades.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bryce Ford, Fairfield
Graduate | Attack | South Salem, N.Y. / John Jay
Ford matched career highs with eight points and six goals, leading Fairfield to an 18-13 win over Drexel to snap a six-game losing streak to the Dragons. The graduate attackman added two assists and one caused turnover in the effort. Ford opened the scoring en route to two tallies in the first half. He added six points on four goals and two helpers in the second half, including back-to-back goals in the fourth quarter after Drexel cut the deficit to one. It marks his third game with five or more goals this season and eighth straight game with multiple points.
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sean Henderson, Hofstra
R-Sophomore | Goalkeeper | Walpole, Mass. / Lawrence Academy
Henderson tallied 10 saves and posted a .588 save percentage to lead Hofstra to an 8-7 overtime victory over Monmouth. The redshirt sophomore played all 61:53 in between the pipes, sporting a 6.79 goals-against average, while adding four ground balls. Henderson allowed no more than two goals in any period en route to his fourth double-digit save performance this spring.
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Luke Downs, Towson
Junior | Goalkeeper | Sykesville, Md. / Calvert Hall
Downs was crucial in Towson’s 9-8 victory over Stony Brook, recording 11 saves and posting a .579 save percentage. The junior logged 60 minutes between the pipes, adding one ground ball in the effort. Downs kept the Seawolves off the board for the opening 20 minutes, making the difference as Towson improved to 3-0 in CAA play for the first time since 2017. It marks his sixth double-digit save effort this season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Julian Radossich, Fairfield
Freshman | LSM | Ridgewood, N.J. / Delbarton
Radossich continued an impressive start to his collegiate career, recording three caused turnovers, two ground balls and one assist, helping the Stags to a road win over Drexel. The helper was his first career point, while the three caused turnovers were a game-high for the freshman long-stick midfielder. In addition, Radossich has recorded three caused turnovers in four straight games and five times this season. He leads the CAA and ranks sixth nationally with 2.20 caused turnovers per game.
