UNCW, Delaware, Charleston, Campbell Separated by Nine Shots Entering Final Round of CAA Women’s Golf Championship

SOUTHPORT, N.C. (April 13, 2024) – UNCW leads a group of four teams within nine shots of each other following the second of three rounds at the 2024 CAA Women’s Golf Championship at The Reserve Club at St. James.
Saturday’s second round was played under sunny skies and temperatures around 70 with sustained winds of 15-20 miles per hour and gusts to 31 mph throughout the day, mirroring Friday’s conditions in North Carolina.
UNCW (612) is five shots ahead of Delaware (617) with Charleston (619) and Campbell (621) close behind. A three-way tie for the individual lead comes from that group, as UNCW’s
Malu Brinker closed the day in a tie for first for the second-straight day, this time joined by Delaware’s
Lilia Henkel and Campbell’s
Alicia Olsson; all three players are 6-over.
Elon is fifth in the team standings, William & Mary is sixth, and Towson, N.C. A&T, and Monmouth are separated by four shots for seventh through ninth. Hofstra rounds out the 10-team field.
Sunday’s final round will tee off at 8 a.m. with the top three teams on the leaderboard – UNCW, Delaware, and Charleston – starting on the first hole at 8:50 a.m.
