CAA Rowing Weekly Awards – April 16

RICHMOND, Va. (April 16, 2024) – The CAA has announced its rowing weekly awards for the week beginning on April 8 and ending on April 14. The Delaware Second Varsity Eight was named CAA Boat of the Week.

Delaware Second Varsity Eight
The Blue Hens earned a fourth-place finish in the Grand Final of the 2V8 at the Knecht Cup – the best finish among the five conference teams competing on the Cooper River this weekend. Delaware’s crew of Claire Higgins-Hart (Cox), Cornelia Meiss (8), Madeline Climie (7), McKenna Twitchell (6), Meaghan Leahy (5), Grace Diehl (4), Makana Steinmetz (3), Meghan Rogers (2), Grace Visser (1) posted a time of 6:59.68, crossing before UConn and Jacksonville while finishing just one second behind UMass in second and 0.63 seconds after Boston University in third. The Blue Hens advanced to the Grand Final by winning their heat earlier in the day with a time of 6:56.51, defeating Jacksonville, Lehigh, Sacred Heart, Monmouth and Drake.
