W&M Conor Sokolowsky Selected As 2023-24 CAA Male Scholar-Athlete Of The Year

RICHMOND, Va. (April 4, 2024) – William & Mary graduate student swimmer Conor Sokolowsky has been selected as the CAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year presented by Primis following a vote by the conference’s Academic Affairs Committee.
 
Sokolowky compiled a 3.96 grade point average while completing his undergraduate degree in Economics with a minor in Data Science last May. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in accounting and has a 3.93 GPA. Sokolowsky has been a member of the CAA Commissioner’s Honor Roll during every semester, is a seven-time member of the Dean’s List and a five-time Provost’s Award recipient. In 2023, he was a Phi Beta Kappa inductee and a Rhodes Scholar finalist, and in 2022, was selected to Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa. Sokolowsky was also a 1693 Scholar, William & Mary’s Men’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2022 and a CAA Sport & Leadership Excellence Award winner in 2023.
 
In the pool, Sokolowsky has had an impressive career for the Tribe. He owns the third-fastest times in school history in the 100 back and 200 IM and the fourth-fastest time in the 200 back. At the 2024 CAA Championship, Sokolowsky finished fourth in the 200 IM with a NCAA B cut time of 1:46.59, ninth in the 100 back and 13th in the 200 back. In 2023, he placed fourth in the 200 IM and 200 back.
 
In addition to his academic and athletic achievements, Sokolowsky has been involved in many other projects. For three years, Sokolowsky served as president of the W&M Student Assembly. He volunteered with the Williamsburg Planning Commissioner, worked as a quantitative consultant for Krowdfin and Sumitomo, and served as a summer analyst intern at Clearsight Advisors.
 
In honor of his accomplishment, Sokolowsky will receive a $1,000 stipend along with a crystal award.
 
Each of the CAA’s 14 nominees for the CAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year presented by Primis will be recognized with a crystal award.
