RICHMOND, Va. (April 8, 2024) – Stony Brook graduate student Kailyn Hart, Drexel redshirt sophomore Jenika Cuocco, Stony Brook junior Avery Hines, and Drexel freshman Bea Buckley are the winners of the CAA Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards presented by Primis for the week ending April 7.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kailyn Hart, Stony Brook
Graduate Student | Attack | North Babylon, N.Y. / North Babylon
Hart tallied a career-high seven goals in No. 15 Stony Brook’s 17-4 win over Delaware on Saturday. The grad student from Long Island secured her career-best scoring output on 10 shots (nine on goal) for her fourth straight game of 3+ goals. The performance moved Hart into a tie with Dorrien Van Dyke for sixth in program history with 197 career goals. Hart is Player of the Week for the second time this year; it is the fifth time a Stony Brook player has earned at least a share of the honor, as Hart joins Ellie Masera and Alex Finn.

CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jenika Cuocco, Drexel
Redshirt Sophomore | Goalkeeper | Sound Beach, N.Y. / Rocky Point
Cuocco tallied 15 saves against seven goals allowed in Drexel’s 17-7 win over Monmouth. The redshirt sophomore from Long Island is up to second in the nation in save percentage (.581) after a .682 showing on Saturday and third in goals-against average (8.17) while helping Drexel to that same average in scoring defense, which is good for fifth nationally. Cuocco earns at least a share of the award for the fourth time in the last six weeks.

CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Avery Hines, Stony Brook
Junior | Defense | Mt. Airy, Md. / Urbana
Hines recorded a career-best six caused turnovers while adding three ground balls as Stony Brook stymied Delaware, 17-4. The junior from Maryland’s six CTs were the most by a Seawolf since Haley Dillon in 2022 and tied for second in a game in program history behind Danielle Werner’s seven in 2003. Stony Brook heads into the week with the nation’s No. 4 scoring defense (7.83) and sits at 10-2 on the year on a five-game winning streak. Hines is the second Seawolf to earn the weekly defensive honor this season, joining Clare Levy.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Bea Buckley, Drexel
Freshman | Attack | Philadelphia, Pa. / William Penn Charter School
Buckley had a quality all-around game in Drexel’s 17-7 win over Monmouth. The freshman from Philadelphia notched two goals, three assists, two caused turnovers, one ground ball, and one draw control as the Dragons improved to 9-3, winning its fifth straight game. The three assists matched Buckley’s career high. Buckley is the second Dragon to be named Rookie of the Week in 2024, joining Ellie Wall.
