W&M's Gurholt Chosen As Most Outstanding Player At CAA Women's Tennis Championship

RICHMOND, Va. (May 2, 2024) – William & Mary junior Hedda Gurholt was chosen as the Most Outstanding Player at the 2024 CAA Women’s Tennis Championship after helping lead the Tribe to its third straight conference title.

Gurholt posted a perfect 3-0 record at No. 1 singles during the tournament and providing the match-clinching point for William & Mary in the quarterfinals and semifinals. She battled past Campbell’s Mialy Ranaivo, 6-4, 0-6, 6-2 in the quarterfinals and topped UNCW’s Eda Arli, 6-2, 7-5 in the semifinals. In the championship match, Gurholt defeated Delaware’s Slade Coetzee, 6-2, 6-2.

Gurholt, who was also the Most Outstanding Player at the 2023 CAA Women’s Tennis Championship, carries a 19-2 dual match record in singles into the first round of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship on Friday afternoon.
