SYRACUSE N.Y. (May 11, 2024) – The Stony Brook women’s lacrosse team will play No. 3 national seed Syracuse in a highly anticipated rematch Sunday in the NCAA Second Round.

Stony Brook (18-2) dispatched Niagara in Friday’s First Round, 19-7, and will play in the Second Round for the 11th consecutive tournament. The Seawolves are aiming to play in their fifth Quarterfinal since 2017 and with a win would be the 15th Quarterfinalist in CAA history.

Ellie Masera notched 10 points in Friday’s win over Niagara to give the Tewaaraton finalist a CAA-record 114 on the year. Avery Hines enters the game one caused turnover shy of the CAA’s single-season mark in that category.

Stony Brook defeated Syracuse in overtime, 13-12, on March 5 at the JMA Wireless Dome with Masera scoring the game-winner. The Seawolves enter the game with 33 wins over power-conference opponents in the last decade.

Sunday’s game will be played at the SU Soccer Stadium at 2 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
