RICHMOND, Va. (May 14, 2024) – The CAA has announced its final rowing weekly awards for the 2024 season. The Drexel Varsity Eight finished the regular season with a victory at the 85
th Dad Vail Regatta and is the CAA Boat of the Week.

Drexel Varsity Eight
The Dragons Varsity Eight took home the gold medal at the 85th Dad Vail Regatta Saturday on the Cooper River. Drexel’s crew of Chloe Speciale (Cox), Julianna Rogers (Stroke), Kira Tracey, Taylor Powell, Mollie Knoff, Kayla Driscoll, Rita Keefe, Ariana Townsend and Sarah Ghazaz (Bow) posted a winning time of 6:54.01. The Dragons finished ahead of Fordham, Georgetown, Embry-Riddle, La Salle and Loyola (Md.) in the Grand Final. Drexel won the overall points championship, with the women’s team finishing third in the women’s standings. In addition, the Dragons won their semifinal in 7:07.15, defeating Embry-Riddle, Loyola (Md.), Iona and Delaware to advance to the Grand Final.
