Nine CAA Women's Lacrosse Players Honored On IWLCA All-Region Teams

RICHMOND, Va. (May 16, 2024) – Nine CAA women’s lacrosse players have been honored on the IWLCA All-Region teams that were announced on Thursday afternoon.

Selected to Mid-Atlantic Region first team were Drexel senior attack Corinne Bednarik, Drexel sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Cuocco and Stony Brook senior midfielder Ellie Masera.

Making the Mid-Atlantic second team were Stony Brook grad attack Alex Finn, Stony Brook grad attack Kailyn Hart, Stony Brook junior defender Avery Hines and Delaware grad defender Madison Hranicka.

Elon placed two players on the South Region second team with senior defender Kailee Follette and freshman draw specialist MJ Santa Barbara.

All nine athletes will now be eligible for the IWLCA All-America team, which will be announced on May 23.

Bednarik, the CAA Attacker of the Year, tallied 99 points on 58 goals and 41 assists. Cuocco, the CAA Goalie of the Year, led the nation with 224 saves and a .569 save percentage. Masera, a Tewaaraton Award finalist and the CAA Midfielder of the Year, recorded 117 points on 77 goals and 40 assists and added a program-record 145 draw controls.

Finn contributed 85 points on 32 goals and a CAA-best 53 assists. Hart finished the season with 92 points on 73 goals and 19 assists. Hines set a SBU season record with 66 caused turnovers and picked up 45 ground balls. Hranicka, the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, recorded 57 caused turnovers and picked up 63 ground balls.

Follette contributed 30 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers while gathering 52 draw controls. Santa Barbara, the CAA Rookie of the Year, broke the Elon and CAA season record with 151 draw controls.
