RICHMOND, Va. (May 2, 2024) – Two more CAA champions will be crowned, while other sports prepare for their conference championships and some CAA teams gear up for NCAA Tournament play.
 
Women’s & Men’s Lacrosse
The CAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship begins Thursday afternoon with semifinal action from Stony Brook, N.Y., where top-seeded No. 14 Stony Brook hosts Elon and Drexel clashes with Hofstra. For full coverage, head to CAASports.com/WLAX.
 
On the men’s side, Thursday’s semifinals include host No. 15 Towson taking on Drexel and No. 19 Delaware squaring off with Fairfield. Championship coverage can be found at CAASports.com/MLAX.
 
Tennis
The UNCW men’s tennis team and William & Mary women’s tennis team open play in the NCAA Tennis Championship on Friday. The Tribe takes on 33rd-ranked Wisconsin at 3 p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C., while the 54th-ranked Seahawks face 14th-ranked NC State in Raleigh, N.C. at 4 p.m. William & Mary is riding a 14-match winning streak and UNCW has won 12 consecutive matches.
 
Golf
NCAA Regionals begin Monday with CAA Champion Delaware in Bermuda Run, North Carolina, and Charleston’s Viktoria Hund playing as an individual in Auburn, Alabama. Both regionals will be 54-hole events with the top five teams and best individual from a non-advancing team going on to the national championship event.
 
Softball | Schedule
It’s the final week of the regular season in CAA Softball. The Championship field is set, but the seeding is yet to be determined. The headliner this weekend – Campbell visiting Delaware for the regular season title. The Blue Hens maintain a 2.0 game lead, entering the three-game series with the Camels. Delaware needs one win to secure its third straight CAA Regular Season title, but Campbell can play spoiler with a weekend sweep. The Camels defeated UD, 3-2, in a non-conference matchup last spring to knot the all-time series at 3-3. In addition, Stony Brook, UNCW, Hofstra and Elon look to battle for seeding during the final week of conference play.
 
Baseball | Schedule
Just one game separates the top three teams in the CAA baseball standings. Highlighting the slate is UNCW (29-16, 14-4 CAA), which is coming off a win at 20th-ranked NC State on Tuesday, hosting Campbell (27-16, 8-10 CAA). Co-leader Charleston (31-11, 14-4 CAA), which is 13-2 in its past 15 CAA games, visits Towson (11-34, 3-15 CAA), while third-place Northeastern (31-11, 13-5 CAA) is on the road at North Carolina A&T (21-23, 5-13 CAA). Also on the schedule, Stony Brook (22-20, 10-8 CAA) entertains Long Island rival Hofstra (18-27, 8-10 CAA), William & Mary (26-19, 9-9 CAA) heads to Elon (17-26, 6-12 CAA) and Delaware (24-19, 11-7 CAA) is home against Monmouth (14-24, 7-11 CAA).
 
Rowing | Schedule
Five CAA crews will be on the water this weekend. Northeastern and Drexel head to Lake Quinsigamond for the Eastern Sprints Regatta, while Delaware, Monmouth and Villanova will compete in dual meets. The Blue Hens go head-to-head with La Salle, the Hawks face Saint Joseph’s and the Wildcats take on Stockton University.
 
Track & Field | Schedule
It’s tune-up time in CAA Track and Field as nine teams close out the regular season ahead of next week’s CAA Championships. North Carolina A&T hosts the Aggie Invitational – where they will be joined by Charleston and Elon. Additionally, Delaware, Monmouth and Towson head to Maryland for the Kehoe Twilight Meet, while Hampton and William & Mary travel to Liberty for the Twilight Qualifier. Finally, Hofstra will host its Outdoor Trails of Miles.
