Northeastern Learns Seeding For NCAA Rowing Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 21, 2024) – The Northeastern women’s rowing team learned its seeding for the 2024 NCAA Rowing Championship, announced by the NCAA Seeding and Selection Committee Tuesday evening. The 2024 NCAA Rowing National Championship is scheduled for May 31 – June 2 at East Fork State Park on Harsha Lake in Bethel Ohio, with Marietta College and the Cincinnati USA Sports Commission serving as hosts.
The Huskies’ Varsity Eight is seeded 18th, while their Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Four are seeded 19th.
Northeastern has earned a bid to the NCAA Championships 10 straight seasons, and the Huskies are making their 13th appearance overall in program history. Last season, Northeastern placed 18th as a team – its best finish since 2017. The Huskies’ Varsity Eight placed 18
th, while placing 19
th in the Varsity Four and 20
th in the 2V8.
The Huskies won their 10 consecutive CAA Rowing Championship on May 18, collecting their league-leading 13th CAA title in program history. Northeastern swept all four events for the second season in a row, winning gold in the V4+, V8+ and 2V8.
The team championship is composed of 22 teams. Eleven conferences were awarded automatic qualification, and the remaining 11 slots were filled with at-large selections to complete the championship field. Teams qualifying for the championship as an automatic qualifier or as an at-large are required to field two boats of eight rowers and one boat of four rowers. For the I Eights, II Eights and Fours, all 22 boats will be seeded into four heats.
