Seven Individuals, Two Relay Teams Qualify For NCAA Men's Track & Field Championship

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 24, 2024) – Seven CAA individuals and two relay teams clinched spots in the NCAA Men’s Track and Field Championships after impressive performances at the NCAA East Regional Preliminaries on Friday.

Campbell’s C.J. McBride tied for the top spot in the high jump with a leap of 2.17m/7-1.5).

In the 4X100 relay, North Carolina A&T’s team of Aveon Reid, Jason Holmes, Isaiah Taylor and Xzaviah Taylor placed 8th with a season-best time of 39.24.
Two CAA runners qualified in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as Northeastern’s Alexander Korczynski finished 4th with a personal-best time of 8:35.78 and Stony Brook’s Carlos Santos placed 12th with a time of 8:42.35.

North Carolina A&T has a pair of qualifiers in the 110 meter hurdles as Jason Holmes finished second in a personal-best time of 13.40 and teammate Thomas Smith placed 11th with a time of 13.65.

Campbell’s Jamal Miller posted a personal-best time of 10.15 to claim a spot in the 100 meters.

Campbell’s Jamel Miller earned a spot in the 400 meters after a seventh-place finish with a personal-best time of 45.47.

The Miller brothers were joined by De’Shawn Ballard and Glenn Skinner on the Campbell 4X400 relay team that finished fourth with a season-best time of 3:01.91 to qualify.

The NCAA Track & Field Championships will be held June 5-8 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
